Larry Lokai, a former FFA advisor from Urbana, Ohio, was recently honored with the prestigious National FFA VIP Citation. His remarkable contributions to agricultural education and FFA were celebrated at the 96th National FFA Convention and Expo held on Nov. 3.
Lokai's illustrious teaching career, spanning from Northwestern-Clark High School to EHOVE Career Center and Keystone Local Schools, culminated in numerous accolades. From being Ohio's Vocational Teacher of the Year to coaching state champion teams, Lokai's impact has been profound.
His mentorship extended beyond classrooms, where Lokai guided students to success in FFA competitions and earned awards for his commitment to agricultural education. Even post-retirement, he continued his influential work, coaching winning teams and serving as an adjunct instructor at Ohio State University.
Lokai's contributions transcend FFA. He has been instrumental in enhancing agricultural education, serving as a field inspector and wildlife education instructor, shaping the future of farming.
His legacy is a testament to dedication, leaving an indelible mark on agricultural education and inspiring countless students in the farming community.
