Gracie Sprague, a recent honors graduate from Ohio State ATI, has left a lasting impact through her leadership and commitment to agricultural communication.
On May 3, she earned her associate degree with distinction, having made full use of her time at the Wooster campus of The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES).
Sprague chose ATI for its hands-on learning and supportive environment — qualities that helped her stay rooted in agriculture while growing into a capable leader. “ATI provided me with the chance to grow as a leader while still staying grounded in my roots in agriculture,” she said.
She served as president of Agricultural Communicators, Educators, & Leaders of Tomorrow, organized campus events, and mentored fellow students. As a student ambassador, she led campus tours and represented ATI at outreach events.
Rachael Ramsier, senior lecturer and program coordinator, praised Sprague as “an intelligent, hardworking, and natural leader” who continuously seeks growth beyond the classroom.
Her off-campus achievements were equally impressive. Sprague served as a Farm Bureau State Ambassador at the Ohio State Fair, interned with the Ohio Pork Congress, and held state office with Ohio FFA.
She also mentored youth through Champion’s Choice Camps, focusing on livestock care and showmanship.
Retired mentor Shari Nussbaum noted Sprague’s wide-reaching influence, saying, “Her communication skills are exceptional, and her leadership extends beyond the classroom.”
Sprague was recognized academically through director’s list honors and scholarships from the Ohio Soybean Council, Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation, and Ohio FFA. She remained active in volunteer projects, such as National FFA Week Service and local alumni initiatives.
“I’ve learned that leadership is not about perfection; it’s about being authentic and uplifting others,” said Sprague. “Through my experiences at Ohio State ATI, I’ve gained the confidence to lead with purpose and integrity.”
