Ohio experiences a midweek dominated by clouds and fog, accompanied by a significant surge in warmer air. Rain showers are anticipated today and tomorrow, with two additional waves of moisture from a strong low originating in the Mid Mississippi Valley. Rainfall estimates from today through tomorrow night into early Friday approach an additional .75″ to 1.5″, covering the entire state at 100%.
While clouds persist on Friday, they are expected to break late in the day, allowing for potential sunshine at the start of Saturday before clouds return. The cooler air following the midweek warmth means temperatures will return to normal levels for Friday through the weekend. On Sunday, a low passing through the Ohio Valley brings the possibility of precipitation. Rain is expected to commence late Saturday evening, continuing through Sunday. Colder air overnight and into Sunday may bring wet snowflakes, with liquid equivalent precip totals ranging from .25″ to .75″ and 80% coverage. Northwest Ohio may experience lower moisture levels compared to central and southern regions.
Looking ahead, the upcoming week promises dry conditions from Monday through the weekend. Although Monday remains cool, a notable temperature surge is forecasted for Tuesday through the weekend, with temperatures surpassing normal levels by 10-20 degrees. The dry pattern should facilitate evaporation of recent moisture, with the next significant weather system likely holding off until the first full week of February.
