The Ohio Beef Council (OBC) is taking significant strides to enhance beef nutrition education in the state with the appointment of Anna Gest as the Manager of Nutrition Education Programs. Gest, a Registered Dietitian hailing from Grafton, Ohio, brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously served as the part-time Nutrition Coordinator for the council.
In her expanded capacity, Gest will focus on engaging medical professionals, health organizations, educators, and school nutrition stakeholders to disseminate valuable information about beef, nutrition, and health. She will spearhead efforts to create digital and social media campaigns promoting beef as an integral part of a healthy lifestyle.
A proud graduate of The Ohio State University with a Masters degree from Kent State University, Gest's background as a hospital dietitian equips her well for her new responsibilities. Additionally, she and her husband, Andy, manage a small feedlot and grain farm in Lorain County.
Erin Stickel, Chairman of the Ohio Beef Council and Wood County beef producer, expressed enthusiasm about the council's strategic expansion, emphasizing the importance of strengthening connections within the professional human health and nutrition industry. Gest's appointment marks a significant step forward in fulfilling the OBC's mission of promoting and generating demand for beef across Ohio.
With Gest at the helm of nutrition education programs, the Ohio Beef Council is poised to make a lasting impact on the nutritional landscape of the state, empowering individuals and communities to make informed dietary choices.
