Ohio dealers reorganized by AGCO

By Andi Anderson

When news surfaced that AGCO would withdraw its brands from long-standing dealer Ohio Ag Equipment by the end of 2024, many wondered about AGCO's future in Ohio.

The Duluth, Georgia-based manufacturer plans to rely on several “well-established” local dealers to provide expanded service within the state. Additionally, AGCO will expand its AgRevolution hub-and-spoke mobile dealer and service business model into Ohio.

According to AGCO, the selected Ohio dealerships will offer AGCO's full brand portfolio, including Fendt, Massey Ferguson®, and PTx products and services.

The dealerships—Lowe & Young (Wooster, Ohio), Mayer Farm Equipment (Jeffersonville, Ohio), and North Star Hardware and Implement (North Star, Ohio)—will continue operating in their current areas with expanded product lines and services.

AgRevolution will open multiple new locations across northern Ohio and offer commercial application retail services statewide.

Customers seeking more information on the dealer situation in Ohio are encouraged to contact one of the listed dealers.

John Deere Launches New Gator Utility Vehicles

Despite recent criticism over workforce layoffs and plans to move production to Mexico, John Deere has some positive news: the launch of its new gas Gator XUV 845 and diesel Gator XUV 875 utility vehicles. These new models offer several options for integrated precision ag technology.

According to John Deere, each new Gator model can be customized with a factory-installed GreenStar Ready option, allowing owners to add a StarFire receiver and universal display. A JDLink modem can also be included, enabling the Gator to be integrated into the John Deere Operations Center. These integrations facilitate tasks like boundary mapping for current and future autonomous technologies.

“This gives farmers a plug-and-play solution for adding precision ag components to the Gator,” said Eric Halfman, John Deere go-to-market manager for Gator utility vehicles. “The Gator XUV 845 and Gator XUV 875 make tasks easy to complete at a lower operating cost.”

The new models also feature enhanced operator comfort and a larger, more versatile cargo box. For more information about the John Deere Gator XUV 845 and Gator XUV 875 utility vehicles, visit or contact your local John Deere dealer.

AGCO is reshaping its Ohio dealer network and expanding AgRevolution, ensuring comprehensive service and product availability. Concurrently, John Deere introduces new Gator utility vehicles, offering advanced precision ag technology to enhance farming operations.

These developments reflect the ongoing innovation and adaptation within the agricultural machinery industry.
