The Miami County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees is excited to announce the opening of applications for the First Harvest Grant. This initiative aims to assist students committed to continuing farming after high school by easing farm operation costs.
About the Grant
The First Harvest Grant offers $1,000 to support students who choose to stay in agriculture after completing high school. These funds can be used for various farm-related expenses, including fuel, fertilizer, equipment, and land rent. Decisions on the appropriate use of the grant will be made by the Miami County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees.
Eligibility Criteria
- To apply for the First Harvest Grant, applicants must:
- Be residents of Miami County.
- Provide documentation confirming their intention to pursue farming, if requested.
- Hold an active Miami County Farm Bureau membership. Non-members can join through the Farm Bureau website or by calling 937-335-1471.
Selection Process
The Miami County Board of Trustees will review all applications and select the final recipient. The winner will be notified directly and required to provide a photograph for Farm Bureau publications and social media.
How to Apply
Applicants must submit their completed grant applications via the designated online form. Applications sent through any other method will not be accepted.
Deadline and Notification
The application deadline is April 30, 2025. All applicants will be informed of the results once the selection process concludes.
