2024 Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarships

The Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation is inviting aspiring students from rural, suburban, and urban communities in Ohio to apply for a variety of scholarships associated with the agricultural industry. With 14 scholarship funds, the foundation aims to award nearly 50 scholarships to deserving students. The application deadline is March 31, and interested individuals can apply online at ofbf.org/foundation/scholarships. 

Highlighted Scholarships: 

  • Lou Ann Putnam Memorial Scholarship Fund for Hardin County: This newly established fund provides perpetual scholarship support, removing financial barriers for individuals pursuing careers in agriculture or related fields in Hardin County. 
  • Bruce and Carlene Patterson Agricultural Scholarship: Created to offer perpetual scholarship support, this fund focuses on removing financial barriers for individuals pursuing careers in agriculture or related fields. 
  • Yvonne Lesicko Memorial Scholarship: Honoring Yvonne Lesicko, this scholarship supports students majoring in agricultural and environmental policy or agriculture-related fields. 
  • Bill and Helen Swank Scholarship: Created in honor of Dr. C. William Swank, this scholarship aims to assist individuals in pursuing careers in agriculture, aligning with Swank's dedication to the well-being of farm families. 
  • Richard & Carole Cocks Scholarship: Recognizing students for academic effort, community service, and career interests using agriculture to enhance partnerships between producers and consumers. 
  • Kenny Walter Scholarship: Dedicated to the legacy of Kenny Walter, this scholarship supports students from Farm Bureau families in the 29 northeastern counties covered by Walter during his tenure. 
  • Cindy Hollingshead Scholarship: Established to honor Cindy Hollingshead for her service to Ohio Farm Bureau, this scholarship assists students planning careers in agriculture, community service, or association leadership. 
  • Ohio Horsemen’s Benevolent & Protective Association Scholarship: Aiding students focusing on careers in food or agriculture, this scholarship is supported by the Ohio Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association. 
  • Dr. David A. Benfield Scholarship Fund: Specifically for students in livestock and crop sciences at the Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI), this scholarship honors Dr. David A. Benfield's contributions to agricultural education and research. 

Interested individuals are encouraged to explore these opportunities and apply for scholarships that align with their educational and career goals. The Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation is dedicated to inspiring and educating the next generation of farmers, fostering progress, and ensuring the prosperity of Ohio agriculture.
