The 61st Farm Science Review brought together a staggering 116,786 attendees at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center in Ohio. This three-day extravaganza showcased the best in agricultural innovation, education, and exploration, leaving visitors with new insights, ideas, and connections.
The event, held under the beautiful Ohio autumn sky, witnessed a remarkable turnout. Tuesday saw 35,902 visitors, Wednesday welcomed 59,641, and Thursday wrapped up with 21,243 attendees. Nick Zachrich, FSR manager, commented, "This year's show has been outstanding in terms of attendee exhibitor interactions, field demonstrations, and perfect weather. The connections made here will benefit the agriculture industry for years to come."
For exhibitors like Brad Bergefurd, an agronomist with Brandt, Farm Science Review is an invaluable opportunity. "We're here to share research and programs for Ohio farmers to adopt," he explained. "Farmers are looking for ways to increase profits, and that's where we come in."
Jenna Watson, corporate marketing manager of AgPro, one of FSR's presenting sponsors, highlighted the importance of connecting with customers: "We come to Farm Science Review to connect with many of our current and potential customers. It's a great opportunity to discuss the equipment and technology available to attendees."
For farmers, the event is both educational and enjoyable. "We're here to see the latest and greatest, catch up with old friends, and get a feel for new businesses," said one attendee.
The event drew a diverse crowd, from dignitaries like Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Ohio State University Acting President Peter Mohler to popular agricultural influencers who shared their enthusiasm for FSR on social media.
Highlights of the event included the daily field demonstrations covering 500 acres of corn and soybeans, a special exhibit marking the 60th anniversary of the Slow Moving Vehicle emblem, and informative "Ask the Expert" sessions on various topics.
Planning is already underway for the 2024 show, scheduled for September 17-19 next year. Organizers are excited about making it even bigger and better. Farm Science Review, hosted by the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University, continues to be a vital hub of agricultural innovation and education, attracting over 100,000 attendees and hundreds of exhibitors each year.
