Congress has passed a full continuing resolution, successfully averting a government shutdown. This legislation includes provisions for short-term spending, drought disaster aid, and an extension of the farm bill, offering much-needed support to the agricultural sector.
Bill Patterson, President of the Ohio Farm Bureau, highlighted the significance of this achievement for Ohio farmers. He stated, “If there was ever a prime example of the impact that Farm Bureau has in the nation’s capital, this is it. From President Duvall’s leadership on Capitol Hill to state Farm Bureau presidents engaging with lawmakers and Ohio Farm Bureau staff working with our state delegation, the power of Farm Bureau was evident. Thousands of members made their voices heard, securing the support farmers need to overcome the challenges of 2024 and plan for a successful 2025.”
This legislative success underscores the Ohio Farm Bureau’s mission of advancing agriculture and strengthening communities. The inclusion of drought disaster aid and the farm bill extension ensures stability and critical resources for farmers.
With this resolution, farmers gain the certainty needed to manage current challenges and prepare for the future.
The Ohio Farm Bureau continues to work diligently to represent farmers and advocate for policies that benefit agriculture. This resolution reflects the collaborative efforts of Farm Bureau leaders, state representatives, and members nationwide in achieving meaningful outcomes for the farming community.
