Fayette County’s farm leaders join forces

By Andi Anderson

On August 6, Fayette County Farm Bureau partnered with Fayette County Soil and Water Conservation District to host a combined annual meeting at the Depot in Washington Court House.

The event brought together community members for an evening of discussion, celebration, and collaboration. Rachel’s Catering Service provided the meal for the evening, ensuring that attendees were well-fed as they engaged in meaningful discussions.

The featured guest speaker for the evening was Leah Hetrick, the director of legal education and member engagement for the Ohio Farm Bureau.

Hetrick provided valuable insights on the Current Agricultural Use Value (CAUV) program and property taxes, sharing information that will help attendees prepare for future challenges and changes in the agricultural sector.

The meeting also covered important business matters, with new delegates selected to represent Fayette County in future Farm Bureau activities. Policies were voted on to help shape the direction of the organization’s future efforts.

Additionally, the evening provided an opportunity to celebrate local achievements, as scholarship winners were recognized for their hard work and contributions to the community.

The success of the event was largely due to the collaboration between Fayette County Farm Bureau and the Fayette County Soil and Water Conservation District.

Their joint efforts ensured a well-organized meeting that engaged local members and provided valuable information. Special thanks were extended to the Soil and Water Conservation District for their role in making the event a success.

The evening was filled with productive discussions and recognition of the individuals and policies that continue to support Fayette County’s agricultural community.
