Ohio State University Extension is offering a free webinar series, All About Fruit!, designed for home gardeners, small-scale producers, and commercial growers. The program aims to equip participants with practical skills to grow healthier and more productive fruit plants, even in limited spaces. Registration is required to attend, and participants will receive access to live sessions and recordings afterward.
The webinar series focuses on the essentials of establishing a productive small-scale fruit patch. Participants will learn how to care for Blueberries, Brambles, and Grapes, including tips for maximizing yield and plant health. These sessions are suitable for beginners and those seeking to improve efficiency in existing production.
Key highlights include Dormant Pruning Mastery, where experts demonstrate pruning techniques for apples and peaches to improve sunlight penetration and air circulation.
Another focus is Young Tree Training, showing how to develop a strong structural foundation in the first three years of a tree’s life. Live Q&A sessions allow attendees to ask questions and receive expert guidance for specific fruit-growing challenges.
The schedule of sessions is divided into two main dates. On February 27, 2026, participants can attend sessions on Blueberries from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Raspberries/Blackberries from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., and Grapes from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
On March 3, 2026, Apple pruning will be discussed from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by Peach pruning from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
This webinar series provides practical, hands-on guidance for anyone interested in fruit production.
By combining demonstrations, expert advice, and interactive sessions, the All About Fruit program helps small-scale producers and gardeners improve their skills, optimize plant growth, and increase their overall fruit production, making horticulture accessible and educational for all participants.
