Value Added Funding for Rural Producers

Value Added Funding for Rural Producers

By Jamie Martin

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development has opened applications for the Value-Added Producer Grant program in Oklahoma. The program is designed to help farmers and ranchers increase the value of the agricultural commodities they produce by supporting new products and expanding marketing efforts.

Through this grant, producers can explore value-added activities that create additional income opportunities. These activities may include processing commodities into new products, improving branding and marketing, or reaching new markets. The goal is to help producers grow their businesses while improving financial stability.

“President Trump is delivering the Golden Age to our Oklahoma farmers and ranchers and is supportive of programs that can increase the bottom line for our producers like the Value-Added Producer Grant,” said Oklahoma State Director Zachary Swartz. “I would encourage any of our local producers to consider this program and exert greater control over the world-class products they produce.”

The USDA Rural Development Oklahoma State Office is accepting applications until April 22, 2026. Farmers and ranchers can review program details, eligibility guidelines, and match grant requirements through the official Value-Added Producer Grant resources. Producers may also contact the state office by email for further guidance.

USDA Rural Development invests in rural communities through programs that support economic development and essential infrastructure. These initiatives help improve access to broadband internet, transportation, electricity, healthcare, housing, and education services. By supporting value-added agriculture, the agency aims to increase farm profitability while encouraging rural growth.

The Value-Added Producer Grant program provides Oklahoma producers with a practical opportunity to expand market reach, develop new agricultural products, and improve income through innovation and strategic business planning.
