Ohio lawmakers have proposed a new bill aimed at providing more learning opportunities for 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) students outside the classroom. The bill, known as HB 186, would allow 4-H and FFA students to receive credit for participating in educational programs, competitions, and other activities related to their respective organizations.
Under the proposed bill, students would be able to earn credit towards graduation requirements and course credits for participating in activities like attending camps, seminars, and workshops, and competing in local and regional contests.
The bill is designed to help students gain practical, hands-on experience in areas such as agriculture, environmental science, and business, and provide them with more opportunities to develop important skills for their future careers.
If passed, the bill would not only benefit students but also organizations like 4-H and FFA by increasing participation and support for their programs. The bill has received bipartisan support and is currently awaiting approval by the Ohio Senate Education Committee.
