Ohio Corn & Wheat’s 2025 Emerging Leaders program has introduced six grain producers to its prestigious leadership initiative. This year’s class includes Evan Davis, Brad Gerten, Walker Heard, Jason Massie, Mark Stewart, and Parker Williams, who will explore advocacy and leadership opportunities in Ohio agriculture.
The Emerging Leaders program is designed to identify and nurture growers with the potential to serve on the Ohio Corn & Wheat Board of Directors. Participants represent Ohio’s corn and small grain producers and are selected regardless of age, location, or demographic.
Program Highlights
Over the coming days, the Emerging Leaders will:
Understand Policy and Advocacy: Learn about the Association’s work in shaping agricultural policies.
Explore Checkoff Initiatives: Hear from national partners on research, market development, and education efforts by the Ohio Corn Checkoff and Ohio Wheat Checkoff programs.
Tour an Ethanol Plant: See how advocacy and checkoff programs collaborate to promote ethanol production.
Engage in Policy Making: Learn about American policy-making processes and how they can influence them effectively.
Leadership in Action
In a few months, the participants will apply their knowledge in Washington, D.C., gaining firsthand experience in advocating for Ohio growers at a national level.
This program underscores Ohio Corn & Wheat’s commitment to developing strong leaders who will drive the agricultural industry forward. By equipping participants with tools for advocacy and leadership, the organization ensures a sustainable future for Ohio’s growers.
