The Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation has awarded over $75,500 in scholarships to students across Ohio, recognizing their dedication to agriculture and commitment to academic success, community service, and future career goals.
These annual awards support students who aim to link agriculture with education, science, or public service.
Among the recipients are Shane Griffith, Sophia Aultman, and Josie Jennings—students with strong visions for the future of farming.
Griffith plans to become the sixth-generation operator of his family's Jefferson County farm. “This will be an enormous help in financing my college education,” Griffith said. “College will assist me in making my farm successful and sustainable.”
Aultman, from Darke County, hopes to influence environmental and agriculture policy. “By combining my passion for agriculture with expertise in environmental policy, I want to ensure that farmers' voices are heard and respected in legislation,” she explained.
Jennings, from Clark County, is focused on helping farm families with succession planning. “I aim to help families create strategies to pass farms on to the next generation while inspiring innovation rooted in tradition,” she said.
Nathan Brown, President of the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation Board, emphasized the importance of investing in youth. “These scholarships don’t just ease financial burdens—they open doors, spark ambition, and give students the confidence to take bold steps in agriculture,” he said.
As agriculture faces growing demands, the foundation remains committed to supporting the next generation of industry leaders. Through these scholarships, students gain the opportunity to strengthen their skills and shape a brighter agricultural future for Ohio and beyond.
