The Ohio Farm Bureau is introducing new health plans this fall, designed to give individuals, families, and farm households more options for affordable health coverage. To help members understand these plans, the organization will host three informational webinars on Sept. 30, Oct. 28, and Nov. 25 at 6 p.m.
Each session will feature the same content and will be led by Trevor Kirkpatrick, director of health services for Ohio Farm Bureau, along with Billy Fields, director of state alliance operations at Farm Bureau Health Plans. These webinars will explain how the plans work and how members can benefit from them. Participants can register through links provided for each session and are encouraged to submit questions ahead of time.
The new Ohio Farm Bureau Health Plans are intended for those who may not have access to an employer-sponsored health plan, as well as for farm families and self-employed individuals seeking cost savings. Plans will be available this fall, with coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2026. Interested individuals can sign up at ohiofarmbureauhealthplans.org to be notified when enrollment opens.
It is important to note that Ohio Farm Bureau Health Plans are not insurance and are not regulated as insurance under Ohio law. Instead, they are designed as a health plan alternative that may better suit the needs of Ohio farm families.
The Ohio Farm Bureau emphasizes its mission of working together for farmers to advance agriculture and strengthen communities. For additional information, members may contact Trevor Kirkpatrick at tkirkpatrick@ofbf.org or visit ohiofarmbureau.org.
By providing these resources, the Ohio Farm Bureau aims to help members make informed decisions about health coverage and ensure that families in the agricultural community have access to dependable and affordable care.
