Farm Science Review Highlights Ag Innovation

By Andi Anderson

One of the largest agricultural events in the nation is set to return this September. Farm Science Review 2025, hosted by The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), will be held September 16–18 at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center in London, Ohio.

The show draws more than 100,000 visitors and 600 exhibitors each year. Attendees will explore over 4,000 product lines and take part in more than 180 educational sessions led by CFAES researchers and Ohio State University Extension experts. The theme of this year’s event is “Transforming Tradition,” which encourages farmers to embrace innovation while staying rooted in agricultural heritage.

Technology demonstrations will be a highlight, with fully autonomous tractors operating in tillage demonstrations and new harvest automation tools running live in the field. AI-powered sprayers will also be showcased. The Molly Caren Ag Center has reported a 60–70% reduction in herbicide use with AI sprayers in corn and soybean production, while still maintaining strong weed control. According to farm manager Nate Douridas, this improvement translates into greater efficiency, profitability, and sustainability for producers.

While new machinery captures attention, the educational sessions remain a cornerstone of the event. Topics include farm succession planning, weather resilience, and financial strategies. Organizers say these research-based insights allow farmers to take home practical solutions for their operations.

The event also plays an important role in introducing students and young professionals to agricultural careers. Many exhibitors highlight the value of the show as a place to connect with the next generation of agricultural talent.

Farm Science Review runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 16–17 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 18. Tickets are $10 in advance online, through participating OSU Extension offices, or select agribusinesses, and $15 at the gate. Children under five enter free.
