The Ohio State University (OSU) Extension will host the 2025 Small Farm Conference on March 8 at the OSU Wooster Campus Shisler Conference Center.
The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., featuring educational sessions designed for small farm owners and those looking to diversify their operations.
The theme for this year’s conference is "Sowing Seeds for Success." Attendees will have access to five educational tracks: Horticulture and Crop Production, Business Management, Livestock, Natural Resources, and Diversifying Your Enterprise.
Sessions will cover topics such as high tunnel farming, soil regeneration with cover crops, microgreen production, agritourism opportunities, and value-added farming strategies.
Workshops will also include hands-on learning experiences, such as a High Tunnel Tour and a Grassfed Beef Tour. Attendees will gain insights into disease management for apples and peaches, vaccination programs for livestock, and navigating business licenses for farm markets.
The event is open to farmers market vendors, market gardeners, and anyone interested in small-scale farming. A trade show will be available, showcasing the latest innovations and services to support farm businesses. The conference provides a valuable networking opportunity for participants to connect with industry professionals and fellow farmers.
