Legacy Farmers Cooperative has achieved multi-year certification for five of its locations in Ohio through the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Certification Program. The program aims to reduce and prevent applied nutrients from running off fields and contributing to water quality issues in Lake Erie. To maintain their certified status, facilities must meet certain program goals each year.
Legacy Farmers Cooperative provides a wide range of services, including dry and liquid applications of fertilizer, crop protection and nutrient products, cover crop applications, and more. They also offer soil sampling, VRT fertilizer recommendations, VRT application, and nutrient management planning services as part of their full-service precision agriculture program.
The 4R program certifies nutrient service providers in the Western Lake Erie Basin and across Ohio that apply or make recommendations in accordance with 4R Nutrient Stewardship principles - using the Right Source of Nutrients at the Right Rate and Right Time in the Right Place. Participants must undergo an annual, independent, third-party audit and demonstrate that they understand and follow 4R principles.
Legacy Farmers Cooperative's achievement of certification for over seven years reflects their employees' hard work and dedication to their customers and the land. With the 4R certification, the company aims to exceed customer expectations and deliver the best value to their business.
