Flynn Spearheads Ohio Farm Bureau Policy Team
By Andi Anderson
Adele Flynn, from Wellington, has taken on a new leadership role within the Ohio Farm Bureau.
Currently serving as treasurer, Flynn has now been named to the 2024 Ohio Farm Bureau Federation Policy Development Committee, a key group tasked with shaping the future of Ohio’s agricultural policies.
As part of the 21-member committee, Flynn will work alongside other Farm Bureau leaders to gather and organize public policy recommendations from county Farm Bureaus across the state.
These recommendations will be compiled and presented at the annual Ohio Farm Bureau meeting in December, where final decisions on agricultural policies are made.
During the committee’s first session, members engaged with government officials, agricultural experts, and Farm Bureau staff to explore important topics facing Ohio’s farming community.
These discussions covered areas such as carbon sequestration, sustainable aviation fuel, land use, rural child care, and livestock traceability.
The committee consists of 10 members from the Ohio Farm Bureau’s board of trustees and 10 representatives from county Farm Bureaus, ensuring a comprehensive approach to addressing the issues that affect Ohio’s agricultural industry.
The Ohio Farm Bureau’s mission is to work together to support farmers, promote agriculture, and strengthen Ohio’s communities.
Through her involvement in the Policy Development Committee, Flynn will help drive forward policies that ensure the long-term sustainability of Ohio’s agricultural sector.
