Ohio Cattlemen's Foundation Awards Over $20,000 in Scholarships

The Ohio Cattlemen's Foundation celebrated its Annual Meeting on January 13, 2024, with a significant focus on supporting future leaders in the beef and agriculture industries. Over $20,000 in scholarships were awarded to high school seniors and current college students pursuing studies in beef or agricultural-related fields. 

The scholarships, designed to contribute to the advancement of Ohio's beef industry, were distributed in various categories: 

Tagged for Greatness Scholarships: Four $1,000 scholarships were awarded through the Tagged for Greatness program. The funds were generated from the sale of Ohio beef specialty license plates at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) office. Recipients of the Tagged for Greatness Scholarships include Megan Garrison (Belmont County), Luke Jennings (Clermont County), Katelynn Wallace (Miami County), and Skyler Ward (Preble County). 

Cattlemen's Country Club Scholarships: Four $1,000 scholarships were presented, with proceeds raised at the Cattlemen's Country Club putt-putt golf course during the 2023 Ohio State Fair. Recipients of the Cattlemen's Country Club Scholarships include Harrison Blay (Portage County), Shala Graham (Licking County), Delaney Jones (Allen County), and Anna Scheurman (Coshocton County). 

Noah Cox Memorial Scholarship: A $1,000 scholarship, in memory of Noah Cox, was awarded to Makayla Heil (Noble County). 

Cattlemen's Gala Scholarships: Twelve $1,000 scholarships were granted from proceeds raised during the 2023 Cattlemen's Gala Celebration and Fundraiser. Recipients of the Cattlemen's Gala Scholarships include Megan Becker (Washington County), Raymond Benecker (Butler County), Owen Brinker (Wood County), Sadie Holman (Licking County), Maria McIntosh (Champaign County), Charity Moore (Montgomery County), Delaney Moore (Fairfield County), Rachel O'Reilly (Geauga County), McKenzie Pitcock (Muskingum County), Emma Truance (Gallia County), Samantha VanVorhis (Wood County), and Zachary Zweibel (Allen County).
