The Ohio Farm Bureau’s AgriPOWER Institute has launched its 2024-2025 leadership program, welcoming 14 farmers and agribusiness professionals into Class XV.
AgriPOWER is a unique leadership development initiative designed to equip Ohioans with essential skills and knowledge on topics that impact the agricultural industry, including consumer relations, regulatory issues, energy, and trade policies.
This year’s participants come from various locations across Ohio. The 2024-2025 AgriPOWER class includes Amanda Barndt from Bowling Green, Grace Baxter from Wooster, Kelsey Brown from Leroy, Johnathon Cottingim from Delaware, Hannah DiVencenzo from Grafton, Zachary Jones from Huron, Olivia Lang from Wooster, Taylor Mensing from Westerville, Rudi Pitzer Perry from New Vienna, Lucy Pullins Green from Bowling Green, William Ray from Zanesville, Emily Stevens from Tiffin, Alec Truckor from Swanton, and Kelly Warner from Harrod.
These individuals have already demonstrated a commitment to Ohio agriculture and aim to further develop their leadership skills through the program.
According to Marlene Eick, AgriPOWER director, this year’s program provides participants with an in-depth understanding of Ohio’s agricultural landscape as well as tools to advocate for the industry.
“These individuals have already made their mark on Ohio agriculture,” Eick stated. “This program will deepen their understanding of agricultural issues and enhance their leadership skills, preparing them to advocate more effectively for the industry they are passionate about.”
AgriPOWER includes sessions on both local and national agricultural issues. One session will take place in Washington, D.C., allowing participants to gain insight into federal policies and global agricultural topics.
Another out-of-state session in California will help them compare and understand different agricultural practices across the country.
This year, the Ohio Farm Bureau has partnered with multiple organizations to support AgriPOWER Class XV, including the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation, Ohio Soybean Council, Certified Angus Beef, The Chef’s Garden, Farm Credit Mid-America, Healthy Harvest Organics, and more. These partnerships enhance the program’s impact and provide diverse perspectives on agricultural challenges.
Ohio Farm Bureau’s mission is to work collaboratively to support Ohio farmers and strengthen local communities.
