The 2025 Ohio Virtual Beef School will focus on drought recovery and high cattle prices, addressing ongoing challenges faced by beef producers. This educational webinar series, designed for farmers and livestock managers, will provide expert insights on pasture management and supplemental feed strategies.
The next session, scheduled for February 26 at 6:30 p.m., will feature two key presentations. Christine Gelley, Noble County OSU Extension Educator, will discuss “Post Drought Pasture Management”, offering strategies to help farmers restore pasture health and maximize productivity after the 2024 drought. Following her, OSU Extension Field Specialist Jason Hartschuh will present on “Annual Forages as Supplemental Feed,” highlighting effective ways to supplement livestock nutrition during recovery.
With the impact of drought still affecting pastures and feed availability, these sessions will provide practical guidance to help beef producers make informed decisions and ensure the health of their herds. Attendees will gain valuable knowledge on sustainable pasture recovery, forage management, and cost-effective feeding solutions.
The 2025 Ohio Virtual Beef School is a free educational opportunity open to all farmers, ranchers, and livestock managers. Registration is available online at go.osu.edu/beefschool25.
By participating, farmers will gain expert advice, actionable strategies, and long-term solutions to navigate drought recovery and manage high cattle prices effectively.
