Ohio Weather: Clear Skies Ahead, Dry Spell Coming

Plenty of clouds are expected in Ohio today as our unsettled pattern gradually moves eastward. While these clouds will keep temperatures in check, humidity levels will remain high.

We anticipate scattered showers in the afternoon and evening, although rainfall amounts will be relatively modest. Most areas can expect only a few hundredths to half an inch of rain, covering at most 60% of Ohio.

Tomorrow, dry conditions prevail across the state, marking the start of a three-day precipitation-free period. Humidity may briefly decrease on Tuesday, but it will rebound on Wednesday and Thursday as a southwest flow carries moisture from Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri.

This moisture will arrive in Ohio early on Friday, bringing rain totals of 0.1 to 0.75 inches with coverage at 80%. Please refer to the map for a visual representation.

A dry Saturday follows, but scattered showers return on Sunday, albeit with a slightly lower coverage of approximately 60%. Monday and Tuesday of next week remain somewhat unsettled.

However, a significant portion of the country is expected to clear out, and an upper-level ridge will begin to build, signaling a potential rain-free period for the second week of July. This forecast aligns well with the upcoming wheat harvest, at least in certain areas.

Ohio's weather outlook indicates a shift towards drier conditions after today's scattered showers. Residents can look forward to a temporary break from precipitation and plan accordingly for the upcoming days of warm, humid weather.
