Roy D. Norman, a native of Wauseon, has been appointed as the senior organization director and policy specialist for Ohio Farm Bureau. In his new role, Norman aims to enhance the organization's engagement with state and federal lawmakers, building upon a successful pilot project in Defiance, Fulton, Henry, and Williams counties.
The project, which focuses on strengthening ties between the farming community and policymakers, will now expand to include additional counties in the southern region, such as Auglaize, Mercer, Logan, and Shelby.
As part of this expansion, the Farm Bureau will facilitate face-to-face sessions between farmers and policymakers in the southern counties. These sessions will provide valuable opportunities for members of the farming community to meet with legislators and community leaders, fostering working relationships and promoting awareness of Ohio agriculture.
The ultimate goal is to create a favorable business environment for farmers and advance the interests of the agricultural sector.
By expanding the pilot project to a larger region, the Ohio Farm Bureau under Norman's leadership demonstrates a commitment to proactive engagement and collaboration between farmers, policymakers, and community stakeholders.
This strategic approach aims to cultivate stronger partnerships and ensure the voices of Ohio's agricultural community are heard at the state and federal levels. Norman's appointment highlights the organization's dedication to strengthening its engagement efforts and advocating for the welfare of farmers in Ohio.
