The deadline to enroll or re-enroll in Ohio's CAUV program is fast approaching. CAUV, or Current Agricultural Use Value, allows farmland devoted exclusively to commercial agriculture to be valued based on its value in agriculture, rather than the full market value, resulting in a lower tax bill for farmers and property owners.
Ohio Farm Bureau Policy Counsel Leah Curtis gives farmers and landowners a heads up about the upcoming deadline and what could happen if CAUV paperwork isn't sent to the local auditor's office in time.
