Cheers to wine at Ohio VINO fest

Cheers to wine at Ohio VINO fest

By Andi Anderson

As part of Ohio’s Come Over October event series, the VINO Wine Festival invites wine lovers and festival-goers to celebrate the fall season with a unique blend of local wine, live entertainment, and artisan vendors.

Participating wineries from across the state will gather to showcase their finest offerings, providing an opportunity for guests to sample and purchase local wines while enjoying a festive atmosphere.

Throughout the year, Ohio’s wineries work diligently through all seasons to prepare for events like this. From maintaining equipment in freezing winter temperatures to pruning, shoot thinning, and monitoring weather in the spring, vineyard owners dedicate countless hours to their craft.

The summer months involve disease control, leaf pulling, and vine management to ensure a high-quality crop, leading up to the busy fall harvest, known as the Crush, where grapes are picked, crushed, and prepared for production.

The VINO Wine Festival will take place as one of the state’s signature fall events, bringing together a range of wineries, including American Winery & Brewery (Wauseon), Chateau Winery & Vineyard (Helena), and Urban Pine Winery & Eatery (Maumee), among others. Attendees will enjoy 22 wine samples, a souvenir wineglass, and a wine tote bag with their general admission ticket.

For those seeking an enhanced experience, VIP tickets offer additional wine samples, special perks like a corkscrew, a wine and food pairing wheel, and light snacks. Music lovers will be entertained by live performances, including acoustic sets by BK RIHA and saxophone performances by Mike Williams.

Alongside the wine tastings, guests can browse local artisan vendors offering unique products such as designer fedora hats from Sweet Evergreen Designs, handmade jewelry from Simply Silver, and gourmet treats like infused honey and maple syrup from Smith Brother’s Sweets.

Tickets range from $42 to $55 in advance, with VIP options available exclusively before the event. Non-drinker tickets are also offered for $12. This fall festival provides a perfect opportunity to sample local wines and enjoy a day filled with entertainment and community.
