Derek Snider, a fifth-generation farmer from Hardin County, has been named the 2025 Ohio Farm Bureau Excellence in Agriculture Award winner. The award recognizes young agricultural professionals for their success, leadership, and commitment to the Farm Bureau.
Snider operates DuLynn Farms, LLC with his parents, raising corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay using no-till farming practices. Their farm also manages a 40-head cow-calf beef herd, selling cattle as freezer beef or through local stockyards.
A dedicated leader, Snider is the Hardin County Farm Bureau president and has been actively involved with the organization for over 10 years. He also served as chair of the Ohio Farm Bureau Young Ag Professionals State Committee in 2024.
Snider holds a degree in agricultural, environmental, and development economics from The Ohio State University, with minors in agricultural communication and entrepreneurship. He currently works as a senior account officer at AgCredit in Kenton, helping farmers meet their financial needs.
As the Excellence in Agriculture winner, Snider receives a $3,000 cash prize, an expense-paid trip to the 2025 Ohio Farm Bureau Annual Meeting, and will represent Ohio at the 2026 American Farm Bureau Convention in Anaheim, California. The award is sponsored by Nationwide and Farm Credit Mid-America.
Finalists Denver Davis of Auglaize County and Megan Dresbach of Pickaway County each received $250, embroidered apparel, and free registration to the 2025 YAP Winter Leadership Experience.
The Ohio Farm Bureau Young Agricultural Professionals program supports leadership development for members ages 18-35. It hosts leadership events, competitions, and networking opportunities for young farmers.
