The Sustainable Agroecosystems Laboratory at Ohio State University is thrilled to announce the availability of forage analysis services. Livestock farmers can now benefit from two comprehensive forage testing options provided by the lab located on Coffey Road in Columbus.
The first option, Package 1, includes essential forage quality analysis, covering dry matter, crude protein, fiber content (ADF and NDF), minerals (Ca, P, K, Mg), digestibility, and additional components like ash, fat, lignin, and starch. For only $18.50, farmers can gain valuable insights to optimize their livestock's nutrition.
For those seeking a more in-depth evaluation, Package 1 can be upgraded to Package 2 for $20.50, with an additional $2.00 grinding fee. In addition to the features of Package 1, Package 2 offers the calculation of Total Digestible Nutrient (TDN) and Relative Forage Quality (RFQ), providing a comprehensive assessment of forage suitability.
