The final stretch of Ohio's harvest faced setbacks due to a storm early in the week and weekend snowfall, slowing down corn harvest progress, mentioned Ben Torrance, State Statistician at the USDA NASS, Ohio Field Office.
Topsoil moisture levels stood at 2% very short, 24% short, 64% adequate, and 10% surplus. The week ending November 26 had an average temperature of 38.3 degrees, 1.2 degrees below normal, with 0.78 inches of precipitation, slightly above average. Only 4.0 days were suitable for fieldwork during this period. Challenges and Progress:
- Corn harvest in northern counties faced delays due to elevator space limitations. Concerns regarding tar spot and vomitoxin arose in the northwest.
- Eighty-six percent of corn for grain was harvested, with the moisture content at 19%, a slight drop from the previous week.
- Winter wheat condition decreased to 80% good to excellent, down 4 points from the previous week.

- Subsoil: 2% very short, 35% short, 60% adequate, 3% surplus
