Registration is now open for the fourth annual Ohio State Organic Grains Conference, scheduled for January 7–8, 2026, at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Sandusky, Ohio. The event provides two full days of programming designed for both experienced organic growers and those who are transitioning to or considering organic grain farming.
Consultants, educators, and agricultural professionals who support organic production will also find the conference valuable.
The 2026 conference will feature a strong lineup of speakers who bring expertise from across the organic agriculture field. Among the featured presenters are Willie Hughes of W. Hughes Farm in Wisconsin, Dr. Matt Ryan from Cornell University, Dr. Aaron Wilson, Ohio State climate and agricultural weather specialist, and Nate Powell-Palm from the Organic Agronomy Training Service (OATS). These speakers, along with additional panelists, will address a range of topics related to organic grain management, certification, climate impacts, and sustainable agronomy.
The event is hosted by Ohio State University Extension’s Farm Office and the Organic Food & Farming Education and Research (OFFER) program.
Conference planning includes contributions from researchers, land-grant university staff, and organic farmers from Ohio and neighboring states, ensuring that the content remains practical, research-based, and relevant to current grower needs.
Attendees can pre-register for $140 per person through December 5. Registration increases to $175 from December 6 to December 26, and walk-in registrations will be accepted at a higher rate. Participants are encouraged to register early to secure their spot and save on fees.
Continuing education credits will be available for Certified Crop Advisors, providing additional value for professionals seeking certification or ongoing training.
The conference aims to support organic grain producers by offering the latest information, networking opportunities, and practical tools to strengthen organic farming systems. For more details and registration information, visit go.osu.edu/OrganicGrains.
