Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s Lake Erie Regional Grape Program welcomes Andrew Holden as the newest addition to their team. As the Business Management Extension Educator, Holden will provide crucial educational programming and resources tailored to the needs of grape growers and processors in the Lake Erie Grape Belt.
Holden, hailing from a diverse dairy farm in Pierpont, Ohio, brings a wealth of agricultural experience to his new role. With a background encompassing dairy farming, row crop cultivation, timber management, and even grape cultivation, Holden's expertise is well-rounded. His educational journey at Ohio State University, where he earned a B.S. in Agribusiness and Applied Economics followed by an M.S. in Agricultural and Extension Education, further enhances his ability to support the grape industry.
Excited about his new position, Holden looks forward to engaging with growers in the Lake Erie Grape Region to understand their needs better. His goal is to equip them with the tools necessary for success, leveraging his passion for agriculture, grapes, and wine along with his economic knowledge.
The Lake Erie Regional Grape Program, part of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County (CCE-Chautauqua), operates under a form of organization approved by Cornell University. With Holden's addition, the program aims to continue its mission of supporting the grape industry while ensuring equal program and employment opportunities for all.
Andrew Holden's appointment signifies a new chapter for the Lake Erie Regional Grape Program, poised to enhance its impact on the grape industry and the community it serves.
