Back to school eats at Howe Meadow market this weekend

By Andi Anderson

This weekend, on August 17th, from 9am to 12pm, Howe Meadow will be hosting its "Back To School Eats" event, offering everything needed to fuel up families with fresh, local goodness.

For those seeking healthy lunchbox staples or delicious dinner ingredients, the market will have a variety of freshly picked carrots, apples, potatoes, sweet corn, fresh eggs, artisanal bread, and honey available.

Some favorite vendors will be returning to the Meadow this week, including BVH Bakery, Happy Pickler, Health Junkie, and Pickle Patch Acres, bringing their popular products. Additionally, Edge Revival, a skilled knife sharpener, will be present to help keep kitchen tools in top shape.

As summer progresses, the market will be brimming with seasonal delights. Visitors can expect to find an array of fruits and vegetables, including tomatoes, figs, sweet corn, apples, watermelon, peaches, plums, and more.

Other offerings will include endive, peppers, cantaloupe, muskmelon, okra, snap beans, bell peppers, hot peppers, summer squash, eggplant, arugula, cilantro, cucumbers, radishes, cabbage, carrots, green onions, and much more. However, blueberries will soon be out of season, so those who love them are encouraged to grab them now.

To enhance the experience, a market map updated weekly will be available, showing all the vendors for the week. A newly designed parking map will also be provided to help visitors easily find a spot, with arrows guiding them to the best parking options.

This event is an excellent opportunity to stock up on the freshest local produce and artisanal goods in preparation for the back-to-school season. Howe Meadow looks forward to welcoming everyone this Saturday!
