Farmers and agricultural producers are invited to the upcoming Farm Forum event on December 19, 2024, at Edison State Community College in Piqua.
Hosted by Apple Farm Service and Brookside Laboratories, this event will bring together industry experts to share valuable insights on modern farming practices, cost-saving strategies, and key agricultural trends.
Registration opens at 8 a.m., and the day’s sessions will run until 2:30 p.m., ending with a closing Q&A panel. Attendees can select three expert-led presentations from a diverse range of topics, giving them a personalized experience.
Key topics include cover crops and carbon credits presented by Michael Watercutter from Mercer Landmark, offering strategies to boost soil quality and earn carbon credits.
Additionally, Luke Baker from Brookside Inc. and Brad Baker from Apple Farm Service will discuss methods to reduce fertilizer costs, enhance soil health, and utilize drones in agriculture.
Terry Mescher from the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) will present on H2Ohio and related programs, aimed at promoting sustainable water practices for Ohio farms.
Ted Gudorf of Gudorf Law Group will cover legacy planning, helping farm owners secure their business’s future, while Bruce Clevenger, an OSU Extension Specialist, will provide insights into the economic state of farming and financial planning.
