Ohio collegiate farm bureaus receive AFBF mini-grants

By Andi Anderson

The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) recently awarded mini-grants to two Ohio-based Collegiate Farm Bureau chapters, recognizing their efforts in leadership development and community engagement.

The Collegiate Farm Bureau chapters at The Ohio State University and Wilmington College were each awarded $500. These funds will be used to enhance chapter recruitment, leadership initiatives, community service outreach, and the purchase of educational materials, as well as to cover registration costs for conferences.

Katie Share, ExploreAg and youth development specialist with Ohio Farm Bureau, praised the chapters for their commitment.

“Both of these chapters are great examples of what a successful Collegiate Farm Bureau is all about. The mini-grants will help students expand their current programs and create new opportunities to increase their community impact,” she said.

Since the Collegiate Farm Bureau Mini-Grant Program began in 2017, more than 70 mini-grants have been awarded to chapters nationwide. These grants play a key role in supporting leadership development and fostering agricultural education among college students.
